ORCA - Protecting Whales and Dolphins Case Study
ORCA is a national charity that works to protect whales, dolphins and porpoises in UK and European waters. They aim to give everyone who cares about whales and dolphins an active role to safeguard their future. They commissioned Make Hay to create a brand new, responsive web presence with a robust content management system as well as reliable, green website hosting.
Initially we worked with ORCA to organise and streamline their content, using their organisation objectives as the focus. This ensures optimum website usability for visitors as well as readying the site structure for further content and developments to be added in the future. ORCA were keen to demonstrate the wide scope of their work, from campaigning and conservation to education and research and to encourage involvement from the public in a variety of ways.
The website instantly targets all of ORCA's key objectives, ensuring that returning visitors are up to date with the latest news and actvities and new visitors can discover more and learn how to join in.
The visual identity is in-line with ORCA's branding and the responsive design means that it can be viewed on smart phone, tablet and desktop monitor screens. It uses HTML5 and CSS3.

To ensure that ORCA can maintain a high quality web presence we also provided training on how to use the website content management system and best practice on preparing, writing and publishing content for the web.
