One Paw at a Time Dog Rescue Case Study

One Paw At a Time is a dog rescue organisation working in the UK and overseas. As a small team One Paw needed a whole website overhaul to make sure it worked hard for them, saving them time in administration tasks. The large amount of information needed to be re-structured to ensure potential supporters, dog fosterers and adopters can easily get to what they need and take action.

One Paw's previous website was very out of date, both technically and in terms of brand and content, so we needed to start from scratch with a new design, build and WordPress editing tools. We re-worded and re-worked existing content to bring it up to date, create clearer navigation and ensure it supports and promotes One Paw's aims and objectives.

Website features and functionality include:

  • Listings of dogs available for adoption and under assessment, with links to specific enquiry forms
  • Online shop, selling One Paw fundraising merchandise with back-end system to manage orders, products and stock
  • Dedicated 'Support' section where visitors can become sponsors, make donations, become corporate supporters, volunteers and fundraisers.
  • Information about the fostering and adoption criteria, process and terms
  • Online forms for potential and existing fosterers and adopters to communicate with the One Paw team
  • Embedded videos and photo galleries of dogs looking for homes
  • Social media integration

As our own dog was rescued by One Paw, we undertook this project as volunteers to support them to continue their vital work in these difficult times. We provided training to the One Paw website volunteer so they can easily update dogs' details as needed. We continue to give ongoing support in managing the website as a whole.

The One Paw website is of course powered by our very own wind powered Green Hosting.
